In last week's column, James Michael Johnson, a south county resident, had a problem with a newly built wheelchair ramp on his property.
Johnson's adult son, who has Down syndrome and uses a wheelchair to get around, lives with him in their Davidsonville home.
So earlier this summer, a nurse from the county Department of Aging who helps care for Johnson's son put the family in touch with a local nonprofit agency that assists seniors and disabled residents to construct a ramp from the front stoop to the sidewalk.
