Julie Grier, a public mental-health specialist concentrating on post-disaster and conflict trauma, has written a soon-to-be published policy paper on the tribulations facing Haiti.
She survived the January earthquake and has been back here since, talking to groups and schools, raising awareness of the issues, and collecting a trove of donated goods along the way. She said the worldwide response to the earthquake has helped ease the immediate crisis, but the long-term solutions are of greater concern.
