Machak, of Annapolis, was co-creator of the Crash Test Dummies public service ad campaign during the 1980s and '90s.
You remember those lovable yellow fellows, Vince and Larry, who were apt to go to pieces in an accident, demonstrating that wearing seat belts is a good idea.
Machak, who is now executive creative director at Crosby Marketing Communications in Annapolis, thought up the campaign with Jim Ferguson when both worked at the Leo Burnett Agency in Chicago.
