The two-day festival of blues and rock 'n' roll held at Sandy Point State Park has donated more than $800,000 since its inception in 1998.
"It's always a gamble, particularly in the current economic atmosphere, whether we will attain our goal or go into the red," Hooker said.
But he and the army of volunteers who work to pull off the event keep trying.
