Our say: Horse park plan presents county with opportunitiesPublished 10/12/05
THE MARYLAND Stadium Authority's selection of a local site - the Naval Academy Dairy Farm in Gambrills - for a planned state horse park is a big opportunity for this county. Opportunities usually don't come without possible pitfalls, and the ones here include the chance that the county will get stuck with an exorbitant bill. We don't blame County Executive Janet Owens for being worried about that. Traffic may be another problem, although this will mainly be a venue for temporary events, and will draw most of its visitors on weekends. But a horse park would generate much less traffic and be much more congenial to the area than...
