DEMOCRATS: Not surprisingly, no Republicans in this sprawling district - all of the Eastern Shore, plus strips of Harford and Baltimore counties, and some 72,000 voters on Anne Arundel County's Broadneck Peninsula - want to take on 16-year incumbent Wayne Gilchrest.
On the Democratic side, Arnold developer and restaurateur Kostas Alexakis wants to challenge Mr. Gilchrest again, in spite of getting less than a quarter of the vote in the 2004 general election. And he has been joined by Severna Park physician Jim Corwin and Christopher Robinson, a lawyer from Talbot County.
