After tabulating about 1,000 responses to a poll on our comic strips - intended to show us how to overhaul our Sunday comics section - I have concluded that the same strip that tickles the funny bone of one reader can rattle the bones of another.
For instance, only a handful of people like "Alley Oop," but those loyalists seem to have a death grip on it. This lame 75-year-old concoction about time-traveling cavemen ranked second among the strips that those polled wanted dumped.
