Editor's desk:Readers divided over comic strips, but here's the decisionPublished 03/18/07
Readers are certainly loyal to their favorite comic strips - it's too bad they can't agree among themselves which ones to be loyal to. After tabulating about 1,000 responses to a poll on our comic strips - intended to show us how to overhaul our Sunday comics section - I have concluded that the same strip that tickles the funny bone of one reader can rattle the bones of another. For instance, only a handful of people like "Alley Oop," but those loyalists seem to have a death grip on it.
