The nice thing about the debate over slot machines, now getting into full swing as the Nov. 4 legalization referendum draws closer, is that it is not a partisan issue. What other controversy will put the state's liberal Democratic comptroller, Peter Franchot, and Republican state Sen. Janet Greenip, one of the most conservative legislators in the General Assembly, on the same platform addressing the same rally with much the same sentiments?
