Our Say: Voters have spoken: Slot machines are coming backPublished 11/09/08
Maryland voters awoke Wednesday morning to find that not only did they have a president-elect - but they had returned legalized slot machines to the state. Slot machines had been banned for four decades because their presence led to nothing good. People's lives were ruined, officials were jailed and the moral fiber of the community was destroyed, with slot machines on nearly every corner. But many voters are not old enough to remember those dark days. Now, whether we like it or not, Maryland is about to have another drink from the same well that poisoned it once before. By roughly a 3-to-2 margin, voters approved a...

Was it Sodom and Gomorrah? Yeah it was! Just ask any long time Waldorf residence about how bad things were. The problems were so overwhelming they had to ban slots all together. And now here we go again. The voters were duped into believeing slots were the miracle cure to money problems. Slots only benefit those running them, for everyone else it?s a money loser. Nothing good is going to come from slots to those the voters think they voted them in for.

What the hell? Was it Sodom and Gomorrah in Maryland when there were slots? Calm down, it's not going to ruin the moral fiber of the community! How you can print such pathetic dribble is beyond me. When slots start grab some quarters from under your sofa cushion, go and have a few pulls and see that the world doesn't have to end for you.
