Whatever happens this week, we know one thing most residents will be hoping doesn't happen: another stretch of days with "scattered thunderstorms" in the forecast. In practice this June, this forecast has meant torrential storms that bring walls of water down on already-sodden ground and on streets already boasting "puddles" that could provide a lifetime of entertainment for a duck. It also means flickering lights and flash flood warnings. As of yesterday, total rainfall for this area in June was 5.41 inches. Average rainfall for the entire month of June is 3.43 inches.
