Area residents of Arundel Mills have had to endure the increased traffic and crime that came with the mall -- all documented reality. Now the lawmakers say they can control traffic and crime with the addition of a casino? C'mon...how can we all be that blind?

You're right J., it is a sad state of affairs when Arundel Kills Mall is the County's "top attraction". That place is just a hole.

Arundel Mills is the county's top attraction? Now that is really sad...

I'm confused, too... - 2009-06-30 18:33:18

Leaders from Virginia warned our Countys leaders about the downsides of a mega-mall. Our leaders apparently knew better. So, I have a few simple questions: Given the mall and related growth that it dragged into the area with it (1) has the County crime rate increased or decreased since the mall was built?; (2) is the County in better or worse financial shape?; (3) are our roads more or less congested?; (4) is our infrastructure in better or worse repair?; (5) are our schools more or less crowded? Given the touted benefits of growth and development, the County should be a virtual paradise by now, right?

We must be confused - 2009-06-30 17:14:38

Remember when Arundel Mills was being pushed down our throat? Still waiting to see the promised benefits from it.

Never go back - 2009-06-30 16:18:50

It amazes me that people still go to that mall. Putting slots there would only class up the joint. Maybe even a full casino. I'm sure the mafia would be able to clean up the thuggery in the parking lot if the police can't.
