ENERGY PARK - Plans for an energy park atop the closed city landfill on Defense Highway made progress recently when city officials selected a winning bidder. Unfortunately, one of the losing bidders is protesting, in what sounds like a case of sour grapes. The city chose Aerotropolis Renewable Energy Group to build and operate a power plant that would create electricity using only renewable energy from such sources as solar power and biomass converters.
