Nonetheless, Gansler was just doing his job as attorney general last week when he released a 50-page analysis prompted by a question posed by a Montgomery County state senator: Should Maryland recognize same-sex marriages legally performed in other jurisdictions?
"The answer to that question," Gansler wrote, "is clearly 'yes.' "
To which the answer of Del. Don Dwyer...

Gansler - 2010-03-02 09:37:36
Maryland law says that marriage is between a man and a woman. Gansler is the Maryland Attorney General. Is Gansler authorized to change Maryland law? His opinion makes no sense unless he can change the law without the Legislature's and Governor's involvement. He should be removed from office.

Dwyer Spouts Off - 2010-03-01 21:57:11
Dear Sir:
I was struck by the title of your todays editorial, On gay marriage, Gansler does his job, Dwyer spouts off.
With all of the exposure you have given Dwyer and his frustrations and insecurities with gay and lesbian rights over these past years, I had come to think that you, too, had lost your moral compass. Reading your todays editorial where you suggest that, Most members of the legislature probably just wish Dwyer would shut up and end by saying, And the grandstanding of legislatures like Dwyer will do little to affect the decision., causes me to believe you still know right from wrong and where you are going.

Weapons Laws - 2010-03-01 13:46:39
Does Mr. Gansler's logic hold for Concealed Carry Weapons permits from other states? If I amm permitted to carry a handgun in 32 other states, "is Maryland obligated to recognize handgun permits legally issueded in other jurisdictions?"
"The answer to that question," Gansler wrote, "is clearly 'yes.' "
