Our Say: Northrop decision fuels debate on economic policy

Maryland already is home to six Fortune 500 companies. For now, at least, it will have to do without a seventh.

Virginia, which has 20 Fortune 500 company headquarters, will be gaining Northrop Grumman, the largest builder of the Navy's vessels. The defense contractor has announced that it will be moving its 300-person headquarters staff from Los Angeles to one of three possible sites in Falls Church and Arlington.
