So why should you care? By Maryland law, the central committees select replacements for state legislators in case of vacancies. We replaced two delegates and one senator while I served on the committee. In addition, they make recommendations to the governor for "Green Bag" appointments to such bodies as the Board of Elections.
If you don't vote in the primary, you may not recognize your party, and...

Sore Loser Indeed. - 2010-08-31 07:27:43
MikeCollins showa why he can't get elected to anything higher than Central Committee; arrogance and lack of knowledge of the Constitution. Running on a platform of faith is unconstitutional? Don't you see the hypocracy in your statement?
There's a reason Mike Collins was removed from the Central Committee years ago, and his rambling in this guest column should make it apparent to everyone.
As noted, sour grapes by an unqualified sore loser.

Sour grapes - 2010-08-31 05:35:40
Sounds like sour grapes to me since the author can't determine whether this article is about his opponents, Delegate Dwyer or religion in general.
Perhaps the author should have disclosed that he ran in 2006 for delegate and was defeated in District 30 and that Debbie Belcher's husband was one of his opponents in that race.
What does a District 31 delegate have to do with District 30 anyway?
I suppose if you bring nothing to the table personally, you resort to vague attacks at your opponents.
As a district 30 resident, Mr. Collins just assured that he has lost my vote.
BTW....does he have to report this as an in kind campaign contribution since it's obviously a ad for his candidacy?

Fear these 3 - 2010-08-27 15:45:13
Fear these 3 and anyone else who wears their religion on their sleeve or attempts to use it for their advantage. They are nearly always scary people, to be avoided at all costs.
