PORT DEPOSIT, Md. (AP) - Firefighters in Port Deposit say a 26-year-old man was injured when his motorized dirt bike was struck by a freight train.
The accident happened Sunday evening when the man was riding the dirt bike along the Norfolk Southern tracks along the Susquehanna River about a mile south of town.
Water Witch Volunteer Fire Co. deputy chief Michael Lipka says firefighters used a rescue boat to reach the man along the riverbank, and he was conscious when they found him.
The man's name has not been released.
