At midnight last night the Department of Natural Resource's big annual fishing tournament opened, and this morning a small school of Diamond Jims will be released into the Chesapeake, one of which will be worth $10,000 to the lucky angler at the working end of the rod.
If June's Diamond Jim isn't caught, July's will be worth $20,000 - and if it avoids fishermen, the August fish promises $30,000. Bottom line, three $10,000 Jims are going into the bay.
In addition, the contest is open to all anglers from Assateague Island to Deep Creek Lake. Catch a fish of citation size (also citation release) and you will be eligible in a drawing...
