DISTANCE TRAINING: RunAnnapolis Ten Mile and Half Marathon Training Program will begin June 14, 7 a.m., at the Truman Parkway Park N Ride. Runners will receive individual attention from certified coaches. This training program is for runners of all abilities and emphasizes several training techniques such as interval, tempo run, fartlek and hill training. There will be instructional discussions on proper stretching, chiropractic for runners, benefits of massage, nutrition for runners, CPR/First Aid, and Performance Enhancement Imagery. Our groups will meet and run together twice a week. The groups will meet on Saturday's at 7 a.m. at the Truman Parkway Park N Ride and on Wednesday's at 6 p.m. at the Annapolis High School track. BALTIMORE 10 MILER: Corrigan Sports Enterprises and the University of Maryland Heart Center will host the inaugural Baltimore 10 Miler on June 21 at 7:30 a.m. inside Druid Hill Park near the Maryland Zoo. The course will run along two of Baltimore's lake-side parks. At the start, runners will pass the lake in Druid Hill Park to 33rd Street where they head east until reaching Lake Montebello. After a lap around the lake, participants will head west on 33rd street before returning to Druid Hill Park to complete the course.
The field will be limited to 2,000 participants who are able to finish the course in under 2 hours and 20 minutes and registration will only take place online. All finishers will receive a fleece.
