'Diamond Jim' could be swimming near AnnapolisPublished 06/03/08
The state's annual fishing contest, which has been going on for more than a month now, kicked into high gear yesterday as tagged rockfish worth up to $15,000 were released in the mouth of the Severn River near Annapolis.

Bill Burton, outdoors columnist for The Capital/Maryland Gazette, tosses a tagged rockfish into the waters off Annapolis.The state put 21 of the fish into the river, and one of them is worth $10,000 in cash, plus a diamond worth $5,000. That "Diamond Jim" fish is the top prize in the annual contest, which is intended to give a boost to recreational fishing in Maryland.
