Annapolis is home to a thriving community of shells. No, not the shells you pick up on the beach, but shells as in small boats that need to be rowed. Unlike motor boats or even sailboats that often motor in and out of their docks or moorings, shells rely completely on muscle power. They are a silent, water level, environmentally friendly means of boating.
