Outdoors:When headed out, keep eyes peeled for fish

As charterboat skipper Capt. Jerry Lastfogel of the Belinda Gail was chugging out of the inlet at Deale the other day, the bay was calm and like a sheet of glass, ideal for noting any fish activity - which he did, and only 15 minutes from the docks.

There appeared to be big fish swirling at the surface, so the lines went over. 

Soon, retired Juvenile Court Master James McCarthy was fighting his first fish ever, a 33-incher, which he landed. Then it was county auditor Joe Novotny's turn and as he latched onto a 27-incher. Both fish were landed and went into the box. That doubleheader made the day for McCarthy, Novotny...
