When chumming, the sensible game plan is for the chum to attract the fish, not feed them. In live-lining your spot or white perch baits are to hook fish, not feed 'em - but sometimes it isn't that easy. When chumming and you discover you're doing more feeding than catching; simple, just toss out less chum. The fish will stay around -and the catching continue. When live-lining and the fish are feasting on the baits without getting hooked, it would be counterproductive to put out fewer baits. You've got to learn to be quicker on the trigger - though all the practice in the world won't guarantee...
