Outdoors: Bluefish hit spot for rookie anglersPublished 10/12/08
TILGHMAN ISLAND - Regardless of where one fishes in the Chesapeake these days the main menu is bluefish, bluefish and more bluefish. I headed down here to fish aboard Capt. Buddy Harrison's 60-foot charterboat Capt. Buddy in hopes of hooking up with some rockfish - and if that didn't pan out, bluefish would be acceptable seeing that I had three rookies in tow among our 14 anglers. With blues so abundant down this way despite their reputation for mutilating baits and avoiding the hook, I figured the newcomers would have to catch at least a few fish - and to hook a novice on fishing a fish or two must be caught. And caught...
