Tennis: County holds its own in team tennis

Mixed team tennis is more popular than ever. This winter, Anne Arundel County fielded 26 teams with nearly 400 players.

At the recent Maryland District Championships in Frederick from June 12-14, the 7.0 team of Jason White and Michele Archibald advanced to the semifinals after sweeping its flight. Unfortunately, they ran into one of the powerful Montgomery County teams and went down to defeat two matches to one. This year Montgomery County teams won the championships at 6.0, 7.0 and 8.0.
