Few things in angling are as humbling as watching a fisherman right next to you reel in fish after fish, while your line remains as slack as a too-cool-for-school, 20-something hardware clerk who acts like you've just requested he pull his own wisdom tooth when all you really want is to find the lag bolts.
Being on fish yet not catching is one of those Chesapeake truisms, ranking side by side with that timeless axiom of running small boats and sailing: "If you've never run aground in the bay you're either a liar or must stay tied to the dock."
