It's a given that fishermen set out to catch fish on every trip. There are occasions (relatively few) when we have a legitimate shot at landing a personal best catch. And then there are those rarest of times when a very large fish hits and we briefly entertain notions of greater glory: Catching a state or - dare I say it? - even world-record fish.
At some point during the day, the realization hits that the best we'll manage is dinner or a good yarn. True, the odds are stacked against anglers in the record-breaking...
