I suppose I had it coming. After a stellar fall in which most of my rockfishing excursions resulted in good catches, I was served a healthy dose of Pepe La Pew last Tuesday. The near-skunkfest was delivered on the Chester River with a heaping side of spitting rain topped with a lashing northeast wind. Although the sounder's screen was lit up with striper marks, we only got one rockfish to open its maw. The rest kept as tight lipped as those who allegedly fitted Jimmy Hoffa with his concrete shoes.
