The ospreys return to the bay as flocks of Canada geese fly north. Yellow perch, rockfish and shad begin their annual trek to answer nature's call, and sportsmen ask their elected officials to spare funding vital for natural resources. It must be spring in Chesapeake Country.
But first the fun stuff as we shake off the winter blues. The pre-spawn ned run in the North East and Susquehanna rivers has wound down yet lingered long enough for the 175 people who fished Coastal Conservation Association's inaugural yellow perch tournament.
