Annapolis plans for national town crier competitionPublished 03/07/08
Residents and tourists can prepare for lots of yelling and cries of proclamation when more than 20 loud and raucous town criers from all over the country and Canada descend on City Dock for their annual competition.

Annapolis Town Crier Squire Frederick Taylor reads a proclamation. Mr. Taylor will serve as the host crier for the National Town Crier Competition.
Set for 1 p.m. May 3 at City Dock, the competition is part of the Annapolis Alive! CharterFest celebration, according to the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau, which organized the event.
