TYLERTON, Smith Island (AP) - Residents here have long known their way around the small guts and channels through the marshes that surround the three villages of Smith Island, and soon visitors will get the chance to explore them, too.
Islanders along with area tourism officials opened the new Smith Island Water Trails - seven marked routes that start either in Tylerton or the larger village of Ewell on a separate island to the north May 2.
