Shore council opposes new crab rules
CAMBRIDGE - The Dorchester County Council has sent a letter to Gov. Martin O'Malley objecting to the state's proposed limits on the harvest of female blue crabs.
The letter dated May 13 warns of dire consequences for the state's crabbing industry. The letter says the regulations would force most crab processing plants in Dorchester County to close.
