Dying man's last words help convict his killer
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — Prince George's County prosecutors say a dying man's last words helped convict his killer.
A jury on Friday convicted 37-year-old Benjamin Perry of the Hyattsville area of second-degree murder and two weapons violations in the January death of DeWayne Dunmore, also 37.
Dunmore called 911 on his cell phone while still bleeding from four bullet wounds. In a weakening voice, he told the dispatcher he was dying. When the dispatcher asked Dunmore if he knew who shot him, he named Perry.
