Baltimore man enters insanity plea in bridge death
BALTIMORE (AP) _ A Baltimore man has entered the equivalent of an insanity plea to charges he threw his 3-year-old son from the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
Thirty-eight-year-old Stephen Nelson pleaded not criminally responsible in the death of his son, Turner.
Nelson's trial, which was scheduled to begin this week, has been postponed until February. He will undergo a psychiatric evaluation by court medical staff.
Nelson has confessed to throwing the boy from the bridge Feb. 3. The boy's body was found in the Patapsco River on July 12.
