Man pleads guilty in $400K theft from Ikea

TOWSON, Md. (AP) _ Baltimore County prosecutors say a 25-year-old Middle River man has been convicted of stealing nearly $400,000 from Ikea.

Suraj Samaroo, who handled customer complaints and returns for the Swedish furniture company at a White Marsh call center, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of felony theft scheme.

Prosecutors say Samaroo admitted that he used records of legitimate purchases to issue unauthorized refunds to himself for merchandise that customers never returned.
