Maryland port eases transition to new ID systemPublished 12/02/08
BALTIMORE (AP) — The Maryland Port Administration on Monday began requiring workers and visitors to show new federally mandated identification cards at port terminals, a move that's about a month before the government's deadline on the cards.
Visitors who do not yet have the new Transportation Worker Identification Credential can present a receipt proving they have applied for one, Executive Director James J. White said.
