Child killed in mobile home fire in Willards
WILLARDS, Md. (AP) — Authorities have released the identity of a 19-month-old boy killed in a fire that ruined a Wicomico County mobile home.
Andrew Zentmyer died despite his father, 25-year-old David Zentmyer, trying several times to rescue the boy. Investigators say the fire started in the child's bedroom and it's not clear if the home had working smoke detectors.
Deputy State Fire Marshal Joe Zurolo says neighbors reported the fire about 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the 9000 block of Bethel Road in Willards.
