If you think you can just hop in the family jalopy and cruise into D.C. … forget it.
A 3.5-square-mile area stretching several blocks on either side of the National Mall will be pedestrian only. Areas adjacent to that and along the Potomac River will restrict access to buses only. Even the buses will have a tough time.
Perhaps you know someone who lives on Capitol Hill, or somewhere relatively nearby who promises a place to park. Well, better bring your walking shoes...
