MANASSAS PARK, Va. — More than 100 immigrants and their supporters marched through Prince William County on Monday to protest policies they say have torn apart families, caused racial tension and made them fearful of reporting crimes. Find Us On Facebook
With chants in Spanish of "Justice!" and "Stop police brutality," the immigrant advocacy group Mexicans Without Borders demanded that county officials rescind a 2007 resolution that allows county police to enforce federal immigration law and denies some public services to illegal immigrants. They say the policy, which drew national attention, has created strife between Hispanic...

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. - Anne Arundel County is considering employee furloughs to combat a $107 million budget deficit, according to officials.
Among other cuts, county workers may be required to take 13 days off without pay and go without raises.
County officials said they have already started to cut expenses to close the $45 million budget gap this fiscal year, including issuing three consecutive hiring freezes and halting the purchase of new ambulances, fire trucks and computers.
AND YET MARTIN O'MALLEY JUST DONATED $30 MILLION TAX-PAYER DOLLARS TO CASA DE MARYLAND!!!

$900,000 missing...... - 2009-02-20 10:37:00
from Centro Familia in government grants. Wonder how much of that money went to aid & abet illegal aliens in Maryland? Or how much went to anchor babies? If $900,000 was missing from state public school funds or from a government funded African-American organization this entire state would be up in arms. But from an organization that is tied to support for illegal aliens? Nope, we can't question them too much, because that's racial profiling. And we know how much the O'Malley administration enjoys harboring illegals in our state at the taxpayer expense.

Shut down CASA....... - 2009-02-19 09:34:28
CASA of Maryland needs to be shut down once and for all. This pro-illegal alien organization does nothing more than aid & abet illegals in our state while being funded by OUR tax dollars. We need to demand that our tax dollars no longer should be used to assist illegal aliens in Maryland!

Illegals.... - 2009-02-18 18:30:29
Why would you hold a protest in a country you are a foreigner in and carry posters that the people you want to reach can't read. Can someone please tell them, in their language, to continue marching.... right back to the border.

$331 million - 2009-02-18 12:07:26
That is the estimated financial burden on our state EACH YEAR for allowing illegal aliens to live here. Ain't it a shame when we hear of cut backs in jobs in this economy? I say we put that $331 million towards helping LEGAL citizens find & keep jobs and stop using that money to aid and abet illegal aliens in our state!

Wow - 2009-02-18 08:03:44
It still amazes me that illegals believe they have any standing to complain or demand better social services.

File for illegal status? - 2009-02-17 20:48:59
If O'Malley wants to grant illegals so many benefits in our state, then he should make available, to all of us, the ability to file for "illegal alien" status. Wouldn't it be cool to skip filing taxes this year like all the illegals get to do?

Immigrants Protest - 2009-02-17 15:09:45
Until the states stop rewarding these illegal immigrants, nothing will ever change. If a parent is in this country illegal and has a child, that child should also be considered illegal.
Sadly, citizens of this country who have worked hard and fallen on hard times are continuously denied help. But come here with nothing and you qualify for food stamps, health care, Section 8 housing, etc. Something is wrong with this picture.

Bad news for Maryland.... - 2009-02-17 09:55:36
Oh, so this will mean even MORE illegals flooding into Maryland, now that Virginia has stepped up enforcement against illegal aliens. We need to take a stand NOW and say NO MORE TAXPAYER SUPPORT FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS IN MARYLAND!!!!

WHAT?? - 2009-02-17 09:43:46
"We're fighting against all the injustices being committed against us,".....are you freaking kidding me?! What about the injustices being committed against us, the LEGAL TAXPAYING CITIZENS? To me, it is an absolute injustice to know that illegal aliens, who are in this country ILLEGALLY, evade our taxes, use taxpayer funded services to their advantage, take jobs away from legal American citizens, and use fraudulent documents to obtain driver's licenses and insurance have the gall to protest on American soil. Give me a break. I only wish ICE officials were present at this rally so they could round up and deport every illegal alien slime ball who was marching on OUR streets demanding for THEIR rights in a country they entered illegally.
