You raise a great point. Why aren't judges held accountable for their bad judgement? Why? Because, it seems, they are above the law. They are t

Alcoholism is a disease - 2009-11-20 01:27:16

It is more likely he had a good lawyer. This guy lost his driver's license when he got the ticket. He should not be driving. A 28 day program is a good idea, but he needs close supervision. When he can drive again, he needs a breathylizer in his car. A judge does not like to take a person's livelihood away. Drunkenness is hard on families, too!I think the County Council needs to rethink their contract with him.

DUI - 2009-11-19 21:39:22

Legislators, lobbyists, and other well-connected Marylanders apparently are eligible for special consideration when they break the law, even when they are repeat offenders. Equal justice: what a joke! Is it any wonder that DUI remains a major highway safety issue? If you ever get hit by a drunk driver, thank a Maryland judge.

Seven times X 100 - 2009-11-19 15:25:05

What the article should say is; David Jacobs has been caught seven times. How many times has he been under the influence and not been caught or crashed? Why does David Jacobs still have a driver's license? If he can afford pay to defend multiple DUI's, he is be able to afford a cab or a limo. David Jacobs should not be given the privilege to drive, period. What quality of service/work product is he providing the Anne Arundel County Council and the Sheriff's Department (and why do they need lobbyists)?
