David Neff and Allyson Summerfeldt met through the Flying Scot class. Neff grew up sailing the 19-foot dinghy on Lake Carlyle in Illinois and West River in Galesville, Md. Summerfeldt was introduced to the one-design as a youngster living near Cave Run Lake in eastern Kentucky. Neff and Summerfeldt have done well since they began dating in 2002, winning the Flying Scot Atlantic Coast and Capitol District championships while finishing fourth in the North American Championship.
