EYC sails to rescue of J/80 championships

Annapolis wasn't slated to host the annual J/80 North American Championship. This year's event was supposed to be held on Lake Norman in North Carolina, but that body of water was deemed too shallow due to the record drought along the East Coast and organizers were forced to find an alternate venue.

 

Fortunately, Eastport Yacht Club and its top-notch race committee team stepped up and offered to host the regatta. A strong fleet of 33 boats showed up in Annapolis this past weekend and were treated to a typical mixture of fall conditions on the Chesapeake Bay.
