It was touch-and-go as to whether the Shearwater Sailing Club could conduct its annual Twilight Race. Severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings put skippers on edge and the race committee wisely decided to delay the start for an hour. The entire crew of Varmint was awaiting word at owner Michael O'Toole's home in Anchorage.
