Bert Carp was in a great mood as he drove to work in D.C. yesterday morning. The Annapolis resident had taken top honors in the Screwpile Lighthouse Challenge and used words such as "thrilled" and "ecstatic" to describe his feelings.

Ramrod topped the seven-boat PHRF A0 fleet during the Screwpile Lighthouse Challenge last weekend.Carp skippered Remedy to victory in PHRF A3 class, which was clearly the most competitive of the popular three-day regatta held off Solomons Island. Remedy had to win a tiebreaker with Windward and Kestrel, all of which totaled 25 points.
