Redistricting ahead for south county schools

Public schools in south county and along the Mountain Road corridor in Pasadena are next for redistricting, according to school officials.

During the coming eight months, parents and the Board of Education will formulate two plans for moving students around those areas to alleviate overcrowding in some schools and to better utilize the space in others, said Chuck Yocum, the school system's demographer.

"It's a very long process," Mr. Yocum said, and final decisions on which students will go where won't be made until April.
