The fifth-grader at Pasadena Elementary School was among county students who bought lunch in school cafeterias last week during Maryland Homegrown School Lunch Week, and got free samples of fresh local produce.

It is a great thing that they are introducing other things to children in school besides pizza and hamburgers. I do however find it offensive when they decided to serve watermelon on the ethnic appreciation day. Is this supposed to be a joke? Black = watermelon now? I am white and offended. I know this because my HS child came home and told me about it, he thought what the heck?! when he was served it.
