AACC students win seven interior design awardsPublished 12/28/08
The building on the Anne Arundel Community College has an odd name - CALT, the acronym for Center for Applied Learning and Technology.

Interior Design instructor Dimitra Tangires shows off an interior design program in Room 301 of the CALT building on the Arnold campus of Anne Arundel Community College. The five women with her are among the six students who won seven awards in a recent statewide student contest, the Maryland American Society of Interior Designers for the 2008 Chesapeake Home Design Competition. From left, Ms. Tangieres, Carol E. Ducey of Odenton, Oolie Hart of Arnold, Marisa Wisor of Centreville, Kathy Brady of Davidsonville, and Margaret Johannsondottir of Severna Park. At any hour during the school day, CALT bustles with talented people. But Room 301, a sunlit studio filled with computer screens and drafting tables, is jam-packed with award-winning rising stars in the interior design industry. Recently, six students who study interior design at the college won an unprecedented seven statewide awards for their work in a student competition sponsored by the Maryland American Society of Interior Designers.
