Open houses

The following schools will hold open houses next month:

Aleph Bet Jewish Day School, 1125 Spa Road in Annapolis, will host an open house from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 4. The school serves students in full-day kindergarten through fifth grade. For more information, call 410-263-9044 or visit www.alephbet.org.

Gunston Day School, 911 Gunston Road in Centreville, will host an open house from 9 to 10 a.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m. Nov. 5. Students will lead guests on a campus tour, followed by a question-and-answer session. The school serves grades nine through 12, and transportation is available from Annapolis during the school year. Holy Trinity Episcopal Day School will hold its fall open house for parents of prospective students from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 11. The lower school campus for grades one to four is located at 13106 Annapolis Road in Bowie. Preschool/kindergarten and grades five through eight are located at 11902 Daisy Lane in Glenn Dale. St. Andrew's United Methodist Day School, 4 Wallace Manor Road in Edgewater, will hold an open house from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 11 at the school. St. Anne's School of Annapolis, 3112 Arundel on the Bay Road, will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 1 and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 4. Admissions packets and curriculum information will be available and tours will be offered. During the Sunday open house, the school will have chess, fencing and robotics exhibitions, and Irish dance and instrumental music performances. There will also be information available on Annapolis Twos, the school's community program for children turning 2 by Sept. 1. The school serves students from preschool through eighth grade. The following Anne Arundel County elementary school lunch menus are for Nov. 2-6.

MONDAY: Chicken nuggets with dip and roll or barbecue pork sub, whole-grain breads and rice, fruit, vegetables, or chef or garden salad with roll and fruit.

TUESDAY: Hot dog or chili dog or burger bar, whole-grain breads and rice, fruit, vegetables, or chef or garden salad with roll and fruit.

WEDNESDAY: Crispy chicken on roll or pizza sub, whole-grain breads and rice, fruit, vegetables, or chef or garden salad with roll and fruit.

THURSDAY: Hard- or soft-shell taco with roll or pork dippers with roll, whole-grain breads and rice, fruit, vegetables, or chef or garden salad with roll and fruit.

FRIDAY: Pizza or fish nuggets with roll, whole-grain breads and rice, fruit, vegetables, or chef or garden salad with roll and fruit.

The following menus are for Queen Anne's County elementary schools for Nov. 2-4. Public elementary and middle schools in that county are closed for students on Nov. 5 and 6.

MONDAY: Baked chicken nuggets with roll, or fruit yogurt with graham crackers, or chef salad with crackers, or peanut butter and jelly sandwich, oven-baked fries, vegetables, fruit.

TUESDAY: Chicken cordon bleu sandwich, or cheeseburger on a bun, or chef salad with crackers, or peanut butter and jelly sandwich, corn, vegetables, fruit.

WEDNESDAY: Hard-shell taco with lettuce, tomato, cheese and salsa, or hot dog on a bun, or chef salad with crackers, or peanut butter and jelly sandwich, baked beans, vegetables, fruit.
