Alexis Parsons, daughter of Chris and Carl Parsons of Crofton, was recently inducted into the Pi Gamma Mu international honor society of the social sciences at Salisbury University. A senior majoring in elementary education, she is a 2006 graduate of Arundel High School.

Lynn Schlie of Annapolis has been awarded the Rutgers University Distinguished Woman of the Year Award for 2009. She has maintained a 3.9 grade-point average while majoring in Political Science and Communication, and has been accepted into the Cap and Skull Honor Society, Delta Epsilon Iota, and Delta Gamma.

Whitney Robinson of Arnold was recently awarded the Robichaud Family Scholarship during a reception at The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech. Robinson is a junior majoring in apparel, housing and resource management.

Matthew Fitzgerald, son of Jeffery and Lynda Fitzgerald of Annapolis, played the part of Trip in the Saint Michael's College major fall theater production, "The School for Scandal." The production ran Nov. 4-7 in the FlynnSpace.
Fitzgerald is a sophomore English major and graduated from Broadneck High School.
