Nashville is known as the home of country music. That Tennessee town has never been associated with lacrosse. Most Nashville residents had probably never seen the sport before Vanderbilt added women's lacrosse. Now youth leagues are forming and sixth-year Vanderbilt head coach Cathy Swezey is seeing little girls with sticks showing up at her games. That's because Vanderbilt is suddenly a player on the national scene, having won the American Lacrosse Conference and earned an NCAA Tournament berth in 2002.
