A cliche in the newspaper profession concerns the "stock hed," which comes to mind this week. That's the designation for headlines on stories that are constantly repeated. The headlines could be saved from one year to the next. Maybe the cynicism should refer to Yogi Berra's "deja vu all over again" when it comes to news stories that develop most years during the road to the Kentucky Derby. They are downers.
